WHAT IS CEMAP? The Certificate in Mortgage advice and Practice (CeMAP) is awarded by the Institute of Financial Services (IFS). It meets the requirements identified by the Financial Services Skilled Council (FSSC). Under FSA rules it is compulsory to have a full CeMAP qualification if you wish to give advice on mortgages and certain insurance products. The CeMAP qualification is made up of 3 modules, all of which must be completed to achieve the qualification. CEFA/CeMAP module 1: UK financial regulations (made up of two units). Examinations Modules 1 and 2 are assessed in a two hour exam consisting of 100 multiple choice questions. Module three is assessed in a two hour exam, but is made up of 60 questions based on six case studies. Examinations can be taken in most Towns and Cities throughout the UK (at driving theory test centres) and are computer based. You receive your results immediately. Each exam has a minimum pass mark of 70% per unit. A mark of 80% or higher receives a merit and a mark of 90% or over receives a distinction. Should you fail a specific unit, you only have to re-sit the specific unit rather than the whole module. Please Note: We recommend that candidates take their respective examinations within 7 days of your training, as using this unique formula has allowed us to achieve a 90% success rate in candidates examinations results. |
